SUNY New Paltz presents “Testing All Queens! An HIV Equal Event” on Saturday, December 5, 2015 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. The event features dinner, a drag show and a fundraiser with proceeds going to HVCS. A special guest speaker from Love Heals starts off the program, and the Queens and Kings of New Paltz close things out with a drag show. Music provided by Superior Sounds.
Suggested donation: $5 for students, $10 for non-students and community members.
Rockland’s World AIDS Day event will be on Thursday, Dec. 3rd from 12pm – 6pm at the Quisqueya Sports Club.

TEEN HEALTH DAY

On Friday, December 4, in collaboration with Westchester Medical Center, a Teen Health Day for individuals ages 13 to 24 will be held at the Carmel Fire Department, 94 Gleneida Avenue, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Teen Health Day will offer free and confidential services including HIV testing, STD screening, Hepatitis C testing, pregnancy testing and mental health and substance abuse referrals. Several other community organizations will be participating in the event to provide education and answer questions.
World AIDS Day is Monday, December 1st. This year’s theme is “Focus, Partner, Achieve.”

ARCS held its first World AIDS Day benefit concert on Saturday, November 29, 2009 at the Ritz Theater in Newburgh, NY, featuring performances by Jeffrey Wilgus, Stewart Lewis, Terry Christopher, and Hillary Johnson. Each of the artists gave amazing, heartfelt performances of their original works and a few covers, all to benefit ARCS’ programs. The event was organized and managed by Markus Payne Management, with lights by Superior Sounds and John Martin. Wolfe DVD & Video donated $5 gift cards to all attendees.
