Rockland LGBTQ Pride

Welcome to VCS Gay Pride Rockland

In early 1999, we tested the idea of developing a gay pride event with LGBT community members, local shop keepers, religious leaders, non-profit agencies and elected officials. We shared from the outset that our mission would be to affirm the dignity of all LGBT people, their families, friends, and allies who live in every hamlet, village and town in Rockland County. And at the same time, we wanted to transform the stereotypes that so adversely impact the LGBT community.

Alpha Phi Omega Creates AIDS Quilt for ARCS' Rockland Office

Tuesday, March 1st, 2011

On Tuesday, February 15, 2011 members of Alpha Phi Omega, a unisex service-oriented fraternity at St. Thomas Aquinas College, presented ARCS with one of two AIDS quilts. The group donated another quilt panel to C.A.N.D.L.E., based in New City, NY. ARCS’ LaShonda DeCosta was on hand to accept the quilt on behalf of ARCS. It will hang proudly in our Spring Valley office for many years to come.
