Help your neighbors lead full and healthy lives.
HVCS needs the ongoing support of generous donors like you to continue to serve our clients living with chronic diseases. Your donations are also used to prevent further spread of the HIV virus and sexually transmitted infections in the Hudson Valley. Your donation stays in the Hudson Valley to help your neighbors affected by chronic diseases. For 2016, our funding priorities are our programs and services to fight food insecurity and hunger (emergency food closets, THRIVES nutrition programs); eviction prevention and utility assistance, and the acquisition and maintenance of our growing fleet of mobile prevention units.
Donate via Firstgiving:
Firstgiving gives you the option to cover all transaction fees, so HVCS receives the full amount of your donation.
To donate via PayPal:
While HVCS’ programs are partially supported by federal and state grants, we rely on donations from individuals, foundations, corporations and local businesses, and funding from special events. Financial and in-kind private donations and grants are vital in meeting our clients’ constantly changing needs and prevent further spread of HIV/AIDS.
HVCS is registered under the legal name of Hudson Valley Community Services, Inc. as a 501(c)(3) charitable corporation with the State of New York Office of Charities Registration. All contributions are deductible to the full extent of the law.

If you have any questions, please contact J. Dewey at (914) 785-8326.
Our Resource Enhancement staff will work with you to discuss the various giving opportunities, including special gifts and directed gifts. HVCS works with estate planning professionals in order to assist you in making gifts through charitable remainder annuity trusts, unitrusts, charitable lead trusts, donations of property or stock, bequests, and other vehicles that provide financial benefits to both HVCS and you or your family.
HVCS operates emergency food closets in all our offices. This service is free of charge to our clients. We rely heavily on your donations. We can always use financial donations, food items and toiletry items.
Household basics like shampoo, deodorant, soap, lotions, feminine hygiene products, laundry detergent, cleaning products, and paper goods are often too expensive for our clients, and are not as easy for HVCS to acquire at local food banks. Donations of these items in addition to non-perishable foods are needed most.
Please download our current HVCS Holiday Food Drive Wish List 2015 to see what our clients are requesting right now.
While HVCS does not accept donations of clothing, furniture, or household items, we encourage you to donate these items to other local non-profit agencies.
If you’re looking to donate clothes in Dutchess County, please consider giving them to Dutchess Outreach at 29 North Hamilton Street in Poughkeepsie. Their contact number is (845) 454-3792.
Please call J. Dewey at (914) 785-8326 to make a donation or make an inquiry about food closet needs. You may also contact your local HVCS office to schedule a donation drop-off time.
