Hudson Valley Credit Union Presents The Most Important Meal

The 2021 Most Important Meal event was held on Sunday, October 24th and raised nearly $6,000 for our food closet program. Thanks again to our sponsors!

Help local people who are living with chronic illnesses get the nutrition and support they need to stay as healthy as possible!

Join HVCS at the Fishkill Recreation Center on Sunday, October 24, 2021 from 9:00 am to 12 noon for a fun-filled breakfast blast from the past. Every ticket includes a commemorative souvenir bowl so you’ll always remember that the most important meal is the one you made possible for someone without enough food.

Fill up your bowl with cereal, granola or oatmeal and your favorite dairy (or dairy-free) topping. Not a cereal lover? We’ve got you covered with hot food items. You’ll also get bottomless coffee, tea and juice. This year we will not have the cereal buffet but all food options will be self-serve or grab-and-go. We’re also dreaming up new entertainment, contests, raffles and of course there will be the silent auction –all while raising funds for HVCS’ food and nutrition programs.

Our food and nutrition programs serve hundreds of people and families each year, and the budget is currently $10,000 short for 2021. We are hoping to raise that–and double–to ensure these vital services remain available for those in need.

Tickets are $35.00 per person over the age of 13. Children 12 and under are free! Scroll down to purchase tickets online or call (845) 787-1789.

Placemat Ads

You can also take out a placemat ad. Your ad is guaranteed to be seen by each of our guests. Business-card sized ads are only $150.00 – reserve yours today by making a donation now, or download the Ad Order Form. You’ll also receive a free ad in our virtual journal which will be displayed at the event.

Get a great discount on tickets by signing up as a table host! Make a $250 donation and get 10 tickets (that’s a $100 savings!). We also encourage table hosts to use social media to spread the word about the event (and how about going “live” on Facebook or Instagram while you’re there?).

SILENT AUCTION DONATIONS and SPONSORSHIPS also needed. Call (845) 787-1789 to find out how you can get your business involved with this great cause.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Everyone is welcome. This is a family-friendly event and children 12 and under can eat for free.

What type of event can I expect?

Expect a fun, laid-back family-friendly atmosphere. The dress code is casual; some past guests have arrived in pajamas! Check out photos from previous years for a feel for the Most Important Meal.

What happened to the cereal buffet?

In an effort to make everyone feel safer from COVID-19 and other communicable illnesses, we will be offering single-serving food choices this year. We encourage those who have not yet gotten a vaccine to wear a mask unless seated with food (following the same guidelines as restaurants). If you have concerns about dining in public with people you don’t know, we suggest becoming a table host and buying the whole table. That way you can manage your own guests and eat with those you know. Food options aside from beverages can also be taken to go.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

The Fishkill Recreation Center has plenty of free parking.

How can I contact the organizer with any questions?

Call J. at (845) 787-1789 or email him at

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

You do not need to bring your printed ticket to the event but it may speed up your entry if you do bring it along. We will have a guest list at the door. Table hosts should submit their guest list by Friday, October 22, 2021. Table hosts will also receive printed tickets to hand out to their guests.
