We have some new data on PrEP usage to share. ICYM We have some new data on PrEP usage to share. ICYMI, PrEP stands for “pre-exposure prophylaxis” and is a medication which prevents HIV infection.
 
Teens and young adults face many barriers to PrEP access, including a lack of comprehensive sex education, limited sexual health services, and high levels of stigma. They had one of the lowest rates of PrEP use across age but experienced the highest amount of HIV stigma.

National LGBTQ Healthcare Awareness Week wraps up National LGBTQ Healthcare Awareness Week wraps up today. Gay and bisexual men made up 67% of new HIV diagnoses in the United States in 2022. HIV infection rates have fallen across the country except in one group: young gay/bi men of color. Gay and bisexual men are also at a higher risk for other STIs than others.

This week we drew attention to health disparities in the LGBTQ+ community and to call for equitable, stigma-free healthcare. Let’s keep advocating for quality healthcare for all!

National Native HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NNHAAD) is National Native HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NNHAAD) is a national mobilization effort designed to encourage American Indians, Alaska Natives and Native Hawaiians across the United States and Territorial Areas to get educated, get tested, get involved in prevention and get treated for HIV.

Organizers chose the first day of Spring to celebrate National Native HIV/AIDS Awareness Day because Spring represents a time of equality and balance. It is considered a time of profound change, new beginnings and birth; A celebration of life for all people.

These providers are less likely to engage with their transgender and gender non-conforming (GNC) patients.

Feeling comfortable enough to share your gender identity and sexuality enables providers to take care of you as a whole person. Everyone deserves quality healthcare without any stigma.
