HVCS' Regional Prevention Initiative

Project ALERT

Project ALERT is a prevention and testing program aimed at high-risk heterosexuals.  High-risk heterosexuals are people who exchange sex for drugs or money, have unprotected sex with HIV-positive partners, engage in unprotected sex while they are intoxicated or under the influence of a substance, or persons who use needles to inject drugs.  If you fall into any of these categories our services might be just right for you.

Prevention Specialists are specially trained individuals well versed in HIV and STI information, and they have a solid  understanding of substance abuse and mental illness. Prevention specialists have access to a wide array of resources and are able to make referrals for most medical issues or concerns. We also offer guidance and support regarding PrEP: pre-exposure prophylaxis–taking an anti-HIV medication daily to prevent HIV infection. In addition to these services ALERT staffers also hold small group sessions aimed at increasing your knowledge about safer sex as well as empowering you to make positive decisions when it comes to sex. As always, we have a wide selection of safer sex  and injection supplies available.

All of our services are free so why wait? Give us a call today and see how ALERT can help you stay healthy.
